Feeling the Love

This is a rare no picture post, but I am writing to share about the supreme sweetness going on at our house. Miranda has a new favorite phrase that is better than anything ever. This is how our conversations now go:

Mommy: Miranda, do you want mac n cheese?
Miranda: Yes. I love you, too.

10 minutes later...
Mommy: Miranda, do you want more apple slices?
Miranda: Yes, love you, too.

5 minutes later...
Mommy: Miranda, its time for your bath.
Miranda: Okay. I love you, too.

At bedtime...
Mommy: Okay, Goose, time for sleepin'. I love you.
Miranda: Later Gator. Love you, too, Mommy.

I would like to invest in a time machine that will transport me/us back to this phase at the exact moment this phase ends. It is heaven. Ahhhhh....we love you, too, Miranda Cakes xoxoxoxoxo

Slingshot Princess

Can I Do 'Dat?
Miranda has had an ongoing curiosity about the "Slingshot" ride at the mall for quite some time.

With most requests she makes to do things that Randy & I are not yet ready to handle, our response is, "Sure, Miranda, when you're in middle school. You're not big enough yet."

Usually, the children on this ride are big enough that it looks probable to a 2 year old that the other kids are older (like say...middle schoolish age).

However, yesterday all the children were oh...her size. She pointed at them and then to herself and said, "Middle school?" Ah, crap.

Good Will Hunting!?
She does math now or at least she is able to to 2 and 2 together.

I'm not sure if the smile is from the "Slingshot" ride or from proving her parents wrong.
What do you think?

Last Days of Summer

We all went to the Counselor Education & Practice Doctoral Program Fall Welcome tonight at JoAnna's house. Miranda and Daddy were able to swim in the pool (which was nice and warm thanks to pool heat).

Miranda made several new friends in the pool -- Evie, Ella, & Simone!!!

Little Squirrel Prepares for Winter

Look at my rockin' new winter coat. Mommy didn't take the tag off because she wasn't sure I'd like it, but as you can see.....

I LOVE THIS COAT, PEOPLE!
In fact, I can't take my eyes off myself.

ABCs Demon-Style

Well, we made a little progress with videos tonight. We set out to show you Miranda's Oreo dunking lesson a la Daddy, but we got a demonic version of her ABCs instead (unsolicited). Feel free to FedEx the holy water -- this kid's possessed!

Bring On Fall -- We're Ready!

The most amazing thing happened today at our house. At 8:30 AM nice men from Lowes dropped off the windows we ordered a month ago. At 10 AM another nice group of men showed up to remove our old, nasty, drafty, decaying windows and put the new windows in. They were finished by 1 PM with all 19 windows.

This is what most of the windows look like from the inside. We call it heaven.

In our "manly" wooden den/playroom, we ordered windows with a "wood" veneer on the inside to go better with the stained wood. It turned out pretty well I think.

This is what the windows look like in the back.

These are the windows in the carport. They have the wood "finish" on the inside. Clever.

Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!
I caught at least 5 of our neighbors rubber-necking our house today. I mean their mouths were hanging open in the breeze.
